Horde leveling 1 to 30

Before you start

This route is the classic one from Classic Era. WoW: Forever adds more than a thousand new quests across 1 to 60, so some hubs may have more (or different) quests.

1. Zone level ranges match Classic so far: The Barrens 10 to 25, Silverpine 10 to 20, Stonetalon 15 to 27, Ashenvale 18 to 30, Hillsbrad 20 to 30, Thousand Needles 25 to 35.
2. Talk to every flight master you pass (the bat or wyvern icon). Set your Hearthstone at the inn of the town you quest from.
3. Skyborne start on Zephras Isle (1 to 12) instead, then travel to the Horde lands. Pick the route below from the level you arrive at. See The Skyborne and Zephras Isle.

1 to 10: starting zones

1. HordeOrcs and Trolls: Valley of Trials (1 to 5), then Razor Hill in Durotar (5 to 10). Finish at Sen'jin Village and the Echo Isles.
2. HordeTauren: Camp Narache (1 to 5), then Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore (5 to 10).
3. HordeUndead: Deathknell (1 to 5), then Brill in Tirisfal Glades (5 to 10). Gallows' End Tavern is the inn.
4. HordeFlight paths: Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff and the Undercity. The starting towns have no flight master.
5. HordeZeppelins link Orgrimmar, the Undercity (towers in Tirisfal) and Grom'gol in Stranglethorn. They are free.

10 to 20: The Barrens and Silverpine

1. HordeThe Barrens (10 to 25): quest from The Crossroads (inn and flight path). Tauren walk north from Mulgore, Orcs and Trolls walk west from Durotar.
2. HordeRatchet on the coast has a flight path and lots of quests. Its boat goes to Booty Bay.
3. HordeSilverpine Forest (10 to 20): quest from The Sepulcher (inn and flight path). Undead do this first, then take the zeppelin to Orgrimmar and finish 15 to 20 in The Barrens.
4. HordeWailing Caverns sits in the middle of The Barrens. Gather its quests from the Crossroads and the cave entrance. See Wailing Caverns.
5. HordeRagefire Chasm (13 to 18) is inside Orgrimmar, and Ruins of Lordaeron (15 to 20, new) is above the Undercity. See Ragefire Chasm and Ruins of Lordaeron.

20 to 25: Stonetalon and Ashenvale

1. HordeStonetalon Mountains (15 to 27): quest from Sun Rock Retreat (inn and flight path).
2. HordeAshenvale (18 to 30): quest from Splintertree Post (flight path) in the east. Contested: watch for Alliance.
3. HordeFinish the southern Barrens quests around Camp Taurajo as you go.
4. HordeBlackfathom Deeps is on the Ashenvale coast and Razorfen Kraul is in the south of The Barrens. See Blackfathom Deeps and Razorfen Kraul.

25 to 30: Hillsbrad and Thousand Needles

1. HordeHillsbrad Foothills (20 to 30): quest from Tarren Mill (inn and flight path). Contested: Alliance quest from Southshore nearby.
2. HordeThousand Needles (25 to 35): quest from Freewind Post (inn and flight path). Good for 27 to 30 and beyond.
3. HordeShadowfang Keep in Silverpine is the dungeon for this range. See Shadowfang Keep.
4. HordeA good order: Stonetalon to 23, Ashenvale to 25, Hillsbrad to 28, then Thousand Needles to 30.

Tips

• The Barrens is huge. Do it in two or three visits rather than all at once, and mix in Silverpine or Stonetalon.
• The beta stops at level 30. Arathi Highlands, Stranglethorn Vale and the new Riverglades (mid 30s and up) are for launch.
