Warrior Arms & Fury guide

How to play Arms & Fury in WoW: Forever: what to press, which stats to chase, the talent build level by level, and the gear and dungeons to aim for.

Overzicht

Arms is the warrior's two-handed weapon spec: big hits, bleeds and lots of crits. The build here goes deep into Arms for Deep Wounds and Impale, so every crit hurts more and keeps your Rage flowing. Pick it if you like simple, hard-hitting melee and want a warrior that can swap to tanking later.

Good at

  • Big crits with a slow two-hander
  • Rend and Deep Wounds ignore armor
  • Victory Rush gives free damage and a small heal
  • Easy to group with any healer

Watch out for

  • Very gear and weapon dependent
  • Little self-healing, so downtime between pulls
  • Rage-starved at the start of a fight

How to play it

In order of priority for levels 20 to 30, on one target:

  1. ChargeOpen every fight with it. Improved Charge gives you extra Rage to start.
  2. RendPut it on anything that will live a while. It bleeds through armor and the talent makes it hit harder.
  3. OverpowerUse it right after the target dodges. It is cheap and hits hard.
  4. Victory RushFree attack and a 10% heal after a kill. Use it whenever it lights up.
  5. Heroic StrikeYour Rage dump. Queue it when you have spare Rage, and save some for the next mob.
  6. Battle ShoutKeep it up at all times.

Several targets

  1. Thunder ClapOpens a pack of 2 to 4 mobs and slows their attacks.
  2. CleaveYour Rage dump instead of Heroic Strike when 2 or more mobs are on you.
  3. RetaliationPanic button when you pull too many. It no longer shares a cooldown with Recklessness or Shield Wall.

Stat-prioriteit

  1. Crit
  2. Hit
  3. Strength
  4. Attack power
  5. Wapen-DPS
  6. Agility
  7. Weapon skill

This is the order ONN ranks gear by for Arms & Fury. Your weapon matters more than anything for melee.

Tips

  • Your weapon is most of your damage. Upgrade it every time you can, even at the cost of armor.
  • Bloodrage no longer puts you in combat in Forever, so you can use it before a pull or while eating.
  • Tactical Mastery is baseline from level 14, and Improved Tactical Mastery lets you keep even more Rage when you swap to Defensive Stance.
  • Crits give much more Rage than normal hits in Forever, so crit gear pays off twice.
  • In dungeons, let the tank get a few hits in before you open, and use Hamstring on runners.
