Druid Feral (cat) guide

How to play Feral (cat) in WoW: Forever: what to press, which stats to chase, the talent build level by level, and the gear and dungeons to aim for.

Overzicht

Feral cat is the druid's melee damage spec. You sneak in with Prowl, build combo points with Claw, Rake and Shred, and finish with Rip. Forever gives Cat Form smooth energy regen, and a lot of things work in form now, so you shift out much less.

Good at

  • Stealth for safe pulls and skipping mobs
  • Can shift to bear or heal when needed
  • Leader of the Pack helps the group
  • Fast travel in Cat Form

Watch out for

  • Tiger's Fury is gone in Forever
  • Weak against packs
  • Short on finishers before 30

How to play it

In order of priority for levels 20 to 30, on one target:

  1. ProwlGet into stealth before every pull.
  2. ShredOpen from behind. Shredding Attacks makes it much cheaper.
  3. RakeAdd the bleed on mobs that will live a while.
  4. ClawYour main builder. Ferocity makes it cheaper.
  5. RipSpend combo points on mobs that will live long enough for the bleed.
  6. Faerie Fire (Feral)Use it on tough mobs. It costs nothing in form in Forever.

Stat-prioriteit

  1. Crit
  2. Hit
  3. Attack power in forms
  4. Strength
  5. Agility
  6. Attack power
  7. Stamina

This is the order ONN ranks gear by for Feral (cat). Your weapon matters more than anything for melee.

Dungeons to run

Where most of your best gear drops, best first.

Tips

  • Omen of Clarity is baseline from level 20, and the free ability is great for Shred.
  • Leader of the Pack at 30 adds crit for your whole party.
  • Combo points no longer drop when you swap targets.
  • If a pull goes bad, go Bear Form. Primal Bite is a strong bear threat attack if you need to hold a mob.
  • Doors, potions and most objects work in form now, so stay in Cat Form while you quest.
