Blizzard has announced that they have introduced temporary economy holds into WoW: Forever to prevent RMT'd gold from entering the economy.
Some players have started to encounter our latest weapon in our efforts against the Real Money Trade (RMT) aka gold buying. If your account is suspected of being involved in RMT, either the selling or receiving of illicit gains, you may find your account subject to a Temporary Economy Hold. You will have restricted use of trade, mail, guild banks and the Auction House while this economic hold is in place.
ONN summary
Blizzard has implemented temporary economy holds in WoW: Forever to combat Real Money Trade (RMT). If an account is suspected of RMT, it may face restricted use of trade, mail, guild banks, and the Auction House. These holds are temporary and will be removed if the account is not involved in RMT. False positives are possible, but no permanent strikes will be applied unless RMT is confirmed. The system will be tested across all versions of World of Warcraft if successful.
