Hall of Thanes

Getting there

1. Go to the throne room in Ironforge (King Magni's High Seat).
2. Take the corridor on the left, past the cobwebs, and go down to the bottom of Old Ironforge. The entrance is there.

Grab these quests first

1. AllianceA Visitor to Dun Morogh: Beldin Steelgrill, Steelgrill's Depot in Kharanos. It sends you to Earthseer Farsen.
2. AllianceFarsen's Watch: Earthseer Farsen, Gol'Bolar Quarry. Kill 10 Dark Iron Spies and loot the Dark Iron Map.
3. AllianceUnderground Map: hand the map back to Farsen.
4. AllianceOld Ironforge Incursion: from Farsen. Kill Durgen Dirgehammer and take his head to King Magni.
5. The Restless Dead: Afadra Dunwall, at the dungeon entrance. Done inside, no earlier quest needed.
6. Important Heirlooms: Thom Filch, at the dungeon entrance. Done inside, no earlier quest needed.
7. An Ancient Grudge: starts inside, near the first room. Put Faldrim Anvilmar's spirit to rest.

The run, boss by boss

1. Faldrim Anvilmar: patrols Anvilmar's Rest. Clear the Enraged Apparitions first. Interrupt his Mind Blast. His Anvilmar's Curse slows the tank's attacks, so healers watch the tank.
2. Magmatus: comes with a Dark Iron Summoner. Kill the Summoner first while the tank turns Magmatus away from the group. Fire Nova hits everyone close, and Combustion burns one random player: heal them.
3. Plunder: patrols the room before the last boss. He knocks people back, so fight him away from other monsters. Pulling him back into the room you came from works well.
4. Durgen Dirgehammer: clear the Dark Irons around him first. He brings two Lesser Stone Golems: the tank grabs them and the group kills the golems before Durgen. He fears everyone nearby and puts Rend on people.
5. After Durgen, pull the lever in the vault room for a quick way out.

Loot to look for

1. Faldrim: Aetherwisp Bracers, Spiritwraith Drape, Ephemeral Choker.
2. Magmatus: Flamefist Grips, Kindlegem Girdle, Fang of Magmatus.
3. Plunder: Golemguard Chest, Treads of the Protector Golem, Golemheart Stave.
4. Durgen: Robes of the Disgraced Thane, Direhammer Leggings, Durgen's Crescent Axe.

After the run

1. Take Durgen's head to King Magni in Ironforge, and hand in the entrance quests.

Tips

• Clear each room fully before a boss: patrols here join boss fights easily.
• Loot lists and boss order are from the beta and early guides.
• Horde's matching dungeon is Ruins of Lordaeron.
