Setup

1. Learn Apprentice Herbalism from any herbalism trainer.
2. Open your spellbook and drag Find Herbs onto a bar. Turn it on: herbs now show on your minimap.

1 to 70: starting zones

1. Pick Peacebloom, Silverleaf and Earthroot in your starting zones. AllianceElwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, Teldrassil. HordeDurotar, Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades.
2. At skill 50, learn Journeyman Herbalism (level 10), then add Mageroyal.

70 to 115: Briarthorn and Bruiseweed

1. AllianceGo to Darkshore, Westfall or Loch Modan. HordeGo to The Barrens or Silverpine Forest.
2. Pick Briarthorn and Mageroyal. From 100, add Bruiseweed.
3. If you can swim near a coast, Stranglekelp grows underwater from 85.

115 to 170: Hillsbrad and Arathi

1. Go to Hillsbrad Foothills and Arathi Highlands (both factions), or Stonetalon Mountains and Ashenvale.
2. Pick Wild Steelbloom, Kingsblood and Bruiseweed. Grave Moss grows near graveyards and crypts.
3. At skill 125, learn Expert Herbalism (level 20).
4. From 150, add Liferoot (along rivers and lakes), from 160 Fadeleaf.

170 to 230: Stranglethorn and Feralas

1. Go to Stranglethorn Vale, Swamp of Sorrows or Feralas. The Hinterlands is also great from 200.
2. Pick Goldthorn, Khadgar's Whisker and Fadeleaf. From 205, Firebloom grows in Tanaris and Searing Gorge.
3. At skill 200, learn Artisan Herbalism (level 35).
4. From 210, Purple Lotus; from 220, Arthas' Tears (Western/Eastern Plaguelands, Felwood).

230 to 270: Un'Goro and Felwood

1. Go to Un'Goro Crater, Felwood or Azshara.
2. Pick Sungrass and Blindweed (Swamp of Sorrows). From 245, Ghost Mushroom in caves; from 250, Gromsblood (Felwood, Blasted Lands); from 260, Golden Sansam.

270 to 300: Dreamfoil and beyond

1. Stay in Un'Goro Crater, Felwood, Azshara or Silithus for Dreamfoil (270).
2. From 280, Mountain Silversage in Un'Goro, Winterspring and Felwood. From 285, Plaguebloom (Plaguelands, Felwood). From 290, Icecap in Winterspring.
3. Keep picking until 300. Black Lotus is very rare and contested: take one whenever you see it.

Tips

• Herbs show as yellow dots on the minimap with Find Herbs on. You can only track one thing at a time, so swap with Find Minerals if you mine too.
• Herbalism pairs perfectly with Alchemy: your own herbs make your own potions and flasks.
• Herbs are among the best-selling items on the Auction House, especially Mageroyal, Kingsblood, Dreamfoil and Black Lotus.
