The Deadmines

Getting there

1. Fly to Sentinel Hill in Westfall Alliance. Horde have a long walk: from Grom'gol (Stranglethorn Vale) north through Duskwood into Westfall.
2. Go to Moonbrook, the ruined town in the south of Westfall. Enter the large building at the back (Deadmine) and follow the mine down to the instance portal.
3. The way down is full of Defias, so wait and go in as a group.

Grab these quests first

Mostly Alliance. Quests are worth a lot of experience here.

1. AllianceRed Silk Bandanas: Scout Riell, top of the tower at Sentinel Hill. Collect bandanas from Defias in the mine.
2. AllianceCollecting Memories: Wilder Thistlenettle, Stormwind (Dwarven District). Collect Miners' Union Cards from undead miners.
3. AllianceOh Brother...: Thistlenettle again. Kill Foreman Thistlenettle in the mine tunnels inside the dungeon.
4. AllianceUnderground Assault: Shoni the Shilent, Stormwind (Dwarven District). Bring back a Gnoam Sprecklesprocket from Sneed's Shredder.
5. AllianceThe Defias Brotherhood: the long chain from Gryan Stoutmantle at Sentinel Hill. The last step sends you to kill Edwin VanCleef. Do it before you go: the reward is great.
6. HordeHorde have no quests here, but the dungeon is still good experience and gear.

The run, boss by boss

1. Rhahk'Zor: the big ogre in the first room past the entrance. Kill him and the door behind him opens.
2. Miner Johnson (rare, not always up): may be in the tunnels after Rhahk'Zor.
3. Sneed's Shredder: a lumber machine in the lumber yard. When it dies, Sneed jumps out and fights you too. Kill Sneed to open the next door.
4. Gilnid: in the foundry, at the top of the ramps. The goblins here run for help, so kill runners first.
5. Fight on to the big cave with the pirate ship. The gate into it is blown open with the cannon beside it.
6. Mr. Smite: the first boss on the ship, on the lower deck. He stuns at 66% and 33% health and switches weapons. Stay out of melee when he stomps.
7. Captain Greenskin: on the upper deck. He cleaves, so only the tank stands in front.
8. Edwin VanCleef: top of the ship. He calls in Defias helpers as his health drops: kill them fast or crowd-control them. He can drop the Cruel Barb and Cape of the Brotherhood, and always drops his head for the Defias Brotherhood quest.
9. Cookie: the murloc cook on the ship. Optional, but worth killing for his loot.

After the run

1. Hand in the quests at Sentinel Hill and Stormwind.
2. Hand in VanCleef's Head to Gryan Stoutmantle for the last part of The Defias Brotherhood.

Tips

• Pull small, pause between pulls so your healer can drink, and mark the target to kill first with a skull.
• Looking for a group? Post in #lfg on ONN chat or make a raid plan for your 5.
